The Diamond A Recreation Association is a mini-country club located in the heart of the Diamond A Ranch Estate. It provides a recreational facility for member families who are residents of Diamond A, and is the center of a genuine Diamond A community. Diamond A property owners and long-term leaseholders are eligible to become members.   A limited number of memberships are available for non-residents, who have a personal connection to our community.

The recreational facilities on the 10-acre property include: a full-size swimming pool, two tennis courts, a bocce ball court, an equestrian arena, a fully equipped playground, baseball and soccer fields, a jogging/walking trail, and a clubhouse. The clubhouse is equipped with a kitchen, great room, fireplace, large screen HD TV, Blu-ray player, and grand piano.  Women’s and Men’s bathrooms, with showers and changing rooms, are attached to the Clubhouse.

Our community spirit is fostered by an active Recreation Association social calendar. These events include: Pool Opening Party, Oktoberfest, Crab Feed, Holiday Party, Wednesday evening BBQs during the warm season, work day parties, and Movie Nights. With the recent acquisitions of a large screen HDTV and a cozy heater, all kinds of TV parties have spontaneously emerged – World Series, Monday Night Football, Super Bowl, World Cup, Olympics, and Oscar night.

Members may request use of the Recreation Center for private parties.  See separate section (Rules) describing rental policies, rental fee schedule, and forms and instructions for submitting a private event request.

An externality is that the existence of the Recreation Center adds value to all Diamond “A” property. So Diamond A owners, who are not members, get this indirect benefit.

In order to maintain a moderate cost of membership, the club is managed and maintained by volunteers.   A 7-member Board of Directors has overall responsibility for this management. We also depend on members to participate in the operation of the club.

Occasional fundraising events help to cover the costs of special projects and major improvements. The most exciting of these is the Autumn Car Show, which happens every other year. This is a spectacle with beautiful vintage cars, entertainment, a silent auction of unusual goodies, and a rousing country picnic.

Diamond A residents who wish to join the Recreation Association, should contact our membership chairperson, Cheryl Hannon at 650-245-0193 or c_hannon@icloud.com. The annual household dues are $750 for a Family membership.
